Mr Rowlands, Conservative Member of the Welsh Parliament made the call following the launch of a national initiative by Tenovus Cancer Care.
He said:
I was delighted to join fellow members of the Senedd and people from across Wales to support the official launch of the All-Wales Cancer Community and to support Tenovus Cancer Care at this important event.
A great number of my constituents have been, and will be, affected by cancer and to know there is a community of other people who can come together to support and influence the policy, research and service development landscape in Wales is important.
I would encourage anyone who wishes to know more or to get involved, to contact Tenvous Cancer Care for more information or to sign up via their website.
The All-Wales Cancer Community, launched by Tenovus Cancer Care, is for anyone who has a cancer story to tell from every community across Wales. The invaluable experiences of members will be used to inform and support the cancer research community, health and social care partners, and Welsh Government, with the aim of improving outcomes for people affected by cancer.
Judi Rhys MBE, Chief Executive at Tenovus Cancer Care, said:
We want everyone affected by cancer, anywhere in Wales, to have a voice, and for their voices to be heard.
All-Wales Cancer Community member, Gill Morton, said:
I hope as many people as possible join this new community and take the opportunity to speak openly about their personal experiences as there has never been a more important time to do so.
Not only will joining the All-Wales Cancer Community mean being part of a movement of people campaigning to help people with cancer live their best lives but it will also help people with experience of cancer to have a voice and be heard. Having recovered from cancer I understand the challenges faced by all those affected, and the extra support needed during such difficult times.

Sam Rowlands AS yn mynychu lansiad Cymuned Ganser Cymru Gyfan yn y Senedd
Gwnaeth Mr Rowlands, sy'n Aelod Ceidwadol o Senedd Cymru, yr alwad yn dilyn lansio menter genedlaethol gan Gofal Canser Tenovus.
Meddai:
Pleser o'r mwyaf oedd cael ymuno â chyd-aelodau o'r Senedd a phobl o bob cwr o Gymru i gefnogi lansiad swyddogol Cymuned Ganser Cymru Gyfan ac i gefnogi Gofal Canser Tenovus yn y digwyddiad pwysig hwn.
Mae nifer fawr o’m hetholwyr wedi cael eu heffeithio gan ganser, a bydd llawer yn cael eu heffeithio yn y dyfodol, ac mae'n bwysig gwybod bod yna gymuned o bobl eraill sy'n gallu dod ynghyd i gefnogi a dylanwadu ar y dirwedd polisi, ymchwil a datblygu gwasanaethau yng Nghymru.
Byddwn yn annog unrhyw un sy'n dymuno gwybod mwy neu gymryd rhan i gysylltu â Gofal Canser Tenovus am fwy o wybodaeth neu i gofrestru drwy eu gwefan.
Mae Cymuned Ganser Cymru Gyfan, a lansiwyd gan Gofal Canser Tenovus, ar gyfer unrhyw un sydd â stori ganser i'w hadrodd o bob cymuned yng Nghymru. Defnyddir profiadau amhrisiadwy aelodau i lywio a chefnogi'r gymuned ymchwil canser, partneriaid iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol a Llywodraeth Cymru, gyda'r nod o wella canlyniadau i bobl sy'n cael eu heffeithio gan ganser.
Meddai Judi Rhys MBE, Prif Weithredwr Gofal Canser Tenovus:
Rydyn ni am i bawb sy'n cael eu heffeithio gan ganser, unrhyw le yng Nghymru, fod â llais ac i'w lleisiau gael eu clywed.
Meddai Gill Morton, aelod o Gymuned Ganser Cymru Gyfan:
Rwy'n gobeithio y bydd cymaint o bobl â phosibl yn ymuno â'r gymuned newydd hon ac yn manteisio ar y cyfle i siarad yn agored am eu profiadau personol, ac ni fu amser pwysicach i wneud hynny erioed.
Nid yn unig y bydd ymuno â Chymuned Ganser Cymru Gyfan yn golygu bod yn rhan o fudiad o bobl sy'n ymgyrchu i helpu pobl â chanser i fyw eu bywydau gorau, ond bydd hefyd yn helpu pobl sydd â phrofiad o ganser i gael llais ac i'w lleisiau gael eu clywed. Rydw i wedi gwella o ganser, felly rwy'n deall yr heriau sy'n wynebu pawb sy'n cael eu heffeithio, a'r cymorth ychwanegol sydd ei angen yn ystod cyfnod mor anodd.
