Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales is urging residents to share their views on plans for replacing a 19th century bridge.
He said:
I remember seeing amazing pictures of Llanerch Bridge, near Trefnant, collapsing and being swept away during Storm Christoph in January and the problems this has caused people who live near there.
For the past nine months a diversion route has been established taking traffic through St Asaph, which is not ideal and I am pleased to see replacement plans for the bridge are under serious discussion.
It is vital it is replaced as soon as possible and I will be calling on the Welsh Government to get involved and help with the funding.
I would also urge people living in Trefnant and Tremeirchion to make sure they share their views with the council.
Denbighshire County Council is currently holding a four week long engagement period until October 18 so local residents can have their say.
Workshops have been held with consultants and the council has met with other partners such as Natural Resources Wales to look at suitable replacement structures and materials for the crossing.
Councillor Brian Jones, Lead Member for Waste, Transport and the Environment, said they wanted all interested stakeholders to participate in the engagement exercise for the replacement bridge.
Residents can share their views online by logging on using this link - https://countyconversation.denbighshire.gov.uk/project/620. Paper copies will also be distributed for collection and drop off to: Trefnant Village Stores, Trefnant Chip Shop, The Salusbury Arms, Tremeirchion (during pub opening hours) and the community kiosk in Tremeirchion (collection point only). They will also be available at St Asaph and Denbigh libraries.
Mae Sam Rowlands AS yn galw ar ei etholwyr i fynegi eu barn ar gynlluniau ar gyfer pont newydd ar gyfer Llannerch.
Mae Sam Rowlands AS dros y Gogledd yn annog trigolion i rannu eu safbwyntiau ar gynlluniau i adnewyddu pont o’r 19eg ganrif.
Meddai:
Rwy’n cofio gweld lluniau anhygoel o Bont Llannerch, ger Trefnant, yn dymchwel a chael ei sgubo i ffwrdd yn ystod Storm Christoph ym mis Ionawr a’r problemau mae hyn wedi’u hachosi i bobl sy’n byw gerllaw.
Ers naw mis bellach mae dargyfeiriad wedi bod ar waith gan fynd â thraffig drwy Lanelwy, sydd ddim yn ddelfrydol, ac rwy’n falch o weld bod yna drafodaeth ddifrifol yn digwydd ynghylch cynlluniau ar gyfer pont newydd.
Mae’n hanfodol bod yna bont yn cael ei gosod cyn gynted â phosibl a byddaf yn galw ar Lywodraeth Cymru i helpu gyda’r ariannu.
Rwyf hefyd yn annog pobl sy’n byw yn Nhrefnant a Thremeirchion i rannu eu safbwyntiau gyda’r cyngor.
Mae Cyngor Sir Ddinbych wrthi’n cynnal cyfnod ymgysylltu pedair wythnos tan 18 Hydref fel y gall trigolion lleol ddweud eu dweud.
Cynhaliwyd gweithdai gydag ymgynghorwyr ac mae’r cyngor wedi cyfarfod â phartneriaid eraill fel Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru i edrych ar strwythurau a deunyddiau addas ar gyfer y groesfan newydd.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Brian Jones, Aelod Arweiniol dros Wastraff, Trafnidiaeth a’r Amgylchedd, eu bod am i’r holl randdeiliaid â diddordeb gymryd rhan yn yr ymarfer ymgysylltu ar gyfer y bont newydd.
Gall trigolion roi eu barn ar-lein drwy fewngofnodi gan ddefnyddio’r ddolen hon - https://countyconversation.denbighshire.gov.uk/project/620.
Bydd copïau papur hefyd yn cael eu dosbarthu i’w casglu a’u gollwng yn: Siop y Pentref Trefnant, Siop Sglodion Trefnant, The Salusbury Arms, Tremeirchion (yn ystod oriau agor y dafarn) a chiosg cymunedol Tremeirchion (man casglu yn unig). Byddant ar gael yn llyfrgelloedd Llanelwy a Dinbych hefyd.
