Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales is urging people to support a major flagship fund raising event next week.
Mr Rowlands, a Conservative member of the Welsh Parliament, will be backing Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day on Friday October 21.
He said:
I am a great supporter of this charity and will be showing my support by joining thousands of fund raisers all over the UK by wearing something pink.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and every year thousands of women are diagnosed with this disease and sadly many lose their lives.
I am happy to support Breast Cancer Now during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and do my bit to help raise money towards life-saving research.
I am also urging everyone in North Wales to take part in wear it pink on October 21. It is such a fun and easy way to support Breast Cancer’s Now’s vital research and help stop breast cancer taking the lives of those we love.
Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place on Friday October 21 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
Since their first event in 2002 over £31.5 million has been raised for life-saving research. Research which is working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage and stop the disease taking lives. The charity’s goal is by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live.
To take part, just register, wear something pink on October 21 and raise money. You’ll be helping to make cutting edge breast cancer research happen.
If you’re at work, you could get your colleagues involved by all wearing pink and join in the fun with our fundraising sweepstakes or quizzes. Schools could have a non-uniform day.
And if you’re looking to take part in your community you could organise a special wear it pink party to bring everyone together and raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Now.

Sam Rowlands AS yn galw ar etholwyr i wisgo rhywbeth pinc er mwyn helpu i godi arian at Breast Cancer Now
Mae Sam Rowlands AS Rhanbarthol Gogledd Cymru yn annog pobl i gefnogi digwyddiad codi arian blaenllaw o bwys wythnos nesaf.
Bydd Mr Rowlands, aelod o’r Senedd dros y Ceidwadwyr, yn cefnogi diwrnod gwisgo pinc Breast Cancer Now ddydd Gwener 21 Hydref.
Meddai:
Rwy'n gefnogwr brwd o'r elusen hon a byddaf yn dangos fy nghefnogaeth drwy ymuno â'r miloedd sy'n codi arian ledled y DU drwy wisgo rhywbeth pinc.
Canser y fron yw'r canser mwyaf cyffredin yn y DU, a bob blwyddyn mae miloedd o fenywod yn cael diagnosis o'r clefyd yma, a llawer yn colli eu bywydau yn anffodus.
Rwy'n falch o gefnogi Breast Cancer Now yn ystod Mis Ymwybyddiaeth o Ganser y Fron a gwneud fy rhan i helpu i godi arian tuag at ymchwil sy'n achub bywydau.
Dwi’n annog trigolion y Gogledd i gymryd rhan yn yr ymgyrch ar 21 Hydref hefyd. Mae'n ffordd mor hawdd a hwyliog o gefnogi ymchwil hollbwysig Breast Cancer Now, a helpu i atal canser y fron rhag cymryd bywydau ein hanwyliaid.
Diwrnod 'gwisgo pinc' Breast Cancer Now yw un o ddigwyddiadau codi arian mwya'r DU. Fe'i cynhelir ddydd Gwener 21 Hydref yn ystod Mis Ymwybyddiaeth o Ganser y Fron, a bydd miloedd o bobl anhygoel yn gwisgo pinc yn eu cymunedau, eu hysgolion neu eu gweithleoedd ar gyfer Breast Cancer Now, elusen canser y fron fwya'r DU.
Ers y digwyddiad cyntaf yn 2002, mae'r elusen wedi codi dros £31.5 miliwn tuag at ymchwil sy'n achub bywydau. Ymchwil sy'n ymroi i ddarganfod sut i atal canser y fron, ei ganfod yn gynharach a sut i'w drin yn effeithiol ym mhob cam, a rhwystro'r clefyd rhag cymryd bywydau. Nod yr elusen erbyn 2050 yw y bydd pawb sy’n cael diagnosis o ganser y fron yn byw.
I gymryd rhan, ewch ati i gofrestru, gwisgo rhywbeth pinc ar Hydref 21 a chodi arian. Byddwch yn helpu i sicrhau gwaith ymchwil arloesol ar ganser y fron.
Os ydych chi yn y gwaith, beth am annog eich cydweithwyr i gymryd rhan drwy wisgo pinc ac ymuno yn yr hwyl gyda'n loterïau neu gwisiau codi arian. Gallai ysgolion gael diwrnod dim-gwisg-ysgol.
Ac os ydych chi'n bwriadu cymryd rhan yn eich cymuned, beth am drefnu parti arbennig i ddod â phawb at ei gilydd i wisgo pinc a chodi arian hanfodol at Breast Cancer Now.
Am fwy o wybodaeth ac i gofrestru ewch i www.wearitpink.org/.
