Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales is delighted to see local health board recognised for innovative projects.
Mr Rowlands, Conservative Member of the Welsh Parliament was commenting after Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board won two top NHS Wales Awards.
He said:
I was delighted to hear that the health board had won two awards for their ideas and congratulate everyone involved.
We all know how much pressure the NHS is under in Wales and it is great to see some reward for hard working staff.
Both projects were deserving winners and I really am very pleased to see innovation from North Wales being recognised.
The health board’s Long COVID Lived Experience Partnership Group won the award for Empowering People to Co-produce their Care and the community cardiology diagnostic vehicle, an innovative response to COVID-19 and the future for cardiac diagnosis, won the Improving Health and Wellbeing Award.

This is the first time the awards, have been held after the pandemic to celebrate excellence in the Welsh NHS.
The Long COVID Lived Experience Group supports patients experiencing the effects of the condition, which can significantly affect their ability to function in day-to-day life.
The service is run by a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals, which includes Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Health Psychologists, a GP, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Assistant Practitioners.
The cardiology diagnostic van, funded by the North Wales NHS Charity Awyr Las, is the first of its kind anywhere in the United Kingdom, delivering care closer to home. It’s kitted out with diagnostics equipment, which is used to assess patients who have suspected heart failure closer to their homes. It means many of the patients don’t have to go into hospital.

Roedd Mr Rowlands, Aelod Ceidwadol o’r Senedd, yn rhoi sylwadau ar ôl i Fwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr ennill dwy Wobr GIG Cymru mawr eu bri.
Meddai:
Roeddwn i’n falch iawn o glywed bod y bwrdd iechyd wedi ennill dwy wobr am eu syniadau a llongyfarchiadau i bawb a gyfrannodd.
Mae pawb yn gwybod faint o bwysau sydd ar y GIG yng Nghymru ac mae’n wych gweld rhywfaint o gydnabyddiaeth i’r staff sy’n gweithio mor galed.
Roedd y ddau brosiect yn enillwyr haeddiannol ac rwy’n hynod falch o weld arloesedd o Ogledd Cymru yn cael ei gydnabod.
Enillodd Grŵp Partneriaeth Profiad Bywyd Covid-hir y Bwrdd Iechyd y wobr am Rymuso pobl i gyd-gynhyrchu eu Gofal ac enillodd y cyfrwng diagnostig cardioleg gymunedol, ymateb arloesol i COVID-19 a dyfodol diagnosis cardiaidd, y Wobr Gwella Iechyd a Lles.

Dyma gyflawniad anhygoel a ffordd ragorol o gydnabod gwaith caled ein staff ymroddedig ar ôl dwy flynedd galed iawn. Ar ran y Bwrdd a phawb yn Betsi Cadwaladr, llongyfarchiadau mawr iddyn nhw.
Dyma’r tro cyntaf i’r gwobrau gael eu cynnal ar ôl y pandemig i ddathlu rhagoriaeth yn GIG Cymru.
Mae’r Grŵp Partneriaeth Profiad Bywyd Covid-hir yn cefnogi cleifion sy’n profi effeithiau’r cyflwr, sy’n gallu effeithio’n sylweddol ar eu gallu i fyw bwyd arferol o ddydd i ddydd.
Mae’r gwasanaeth yn cael ei gynnal gan dîm amlddisgyblaethol o weithwyr iechyd proffesiynol, sy’n cynnwys Uwch Ymarferwyr, Seicolegwyr Iechyd Clinigol, Meddyg Teulu, Ffisiotherapydd, Therapyddion Galwedigaethol ac Ymarferwyr Cynorthwyol.
Y fan ddiagnosio cardioleg, a gyllidir gan Elusen Awyr Las GIG Gogledd Cymru, yw’r cyntaf o’i math yn y Deyrnas Unedig, ac mae’n darparu gofal yn nes i’r cartref. Mae wedi’i chyfarparu ag offer diagnosio, a ddefnyddir i asesu cleifion y tybir eu bod wedi cael methiant y galon yn nes at eu cartrefi. Mae’n golygu nad yw llawer o’r cleifion yn gorfod mynd i’r ysbyty.
