Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, was commenting after a recent visit to the site in Wrexham.
He said:
It was great to have the opportunity to see some of the exciting things planned at the Yale campus.
I was delighted to see all the facilities and hear about future plans for this very impressive college including the building of a new Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub.
It is a leading education provider and looking around the site I could certainly see why. It was particularly good to see around the Hafod Building as the ground floor is open to the public and home to the popular Iâl restaurant serving food produced by other campuses in Northop and Llysfasi farm.
The site also provides impressive sports and gym facilities and I was more than happy to try it out and hop on a bike in the spinning studio.
Coleg Cambria was created following the merger of Deeside College and Yale College, Wrexham, in August 2013. It has six campuses across Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire, and offers one of the widest curriculum portfolios of any college in Wales,
Since 2013 they have rapidly established themselves as a leading UK education provider and is one of the largest colleges in the UK.
Across their five sites, they offer a vast array of full-time and part-time courses including A Levels, GCSEs, BTECs, Welsh for Adults, and Higher Education. The college also works in partnership with over 1,000 employers locally and nationally to help you gain apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities.
Sam Rowlands AS wrth ei fodd o weld twf parhaus Coleg Cambria
Gwnaeth Sam Rowlands, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Ogledd Cymru, y sylw wedi ymweliad diweddar â'r safle yn Wrecsam.
Meddai:
Roedd yn wych cael y cyfle i weld rhai o'r pethau cyffrous sydd wedi'u cynllunio ar gampws Iâl.
Roeddwn wrth fy modd yn gweld yr holl gyfleusterau a chlywed am y cynlluniau ar gyfer y coleg trawiadol iawn hwn i’r dyfodol, gan gynnwys adeiladu Canolfan Iechyd Meddwl a Lles newydd.
Mae'n ddarparwr addysg blaenllaw ac ar ôl cael blas ar y safle heddiw, gallwn weld yn glir pam. Roedd hi’n arbennig o wych cael golwg ar Adeilad yr Hafod gan fod y llawr gwaelod ar agor i'r cyhoedd ac yn gartref i fwyty poblogaidd Iâl, sy'n gweini bwyd a gynhyrchir gan y campysau eraill yn Llaneurgain ac yn fferm Llysfasi.
Mae'r safle hefyd yn darparu cyfleusterau chwaraeon a champfa heb eu hail ac roedd hi’n braf cael neidio ar feic yn y gampfa sbin.
Sefydlwyd Coleg Cambria yn dilyn uno Coleg Glannau Dyfrdwy a Choleg Iâl, Wrecsam, ym mis Awst 2013. Mae ganddo chwe champws ar draws Wrecsam, Sir y Fflint a Sir Ddinbych, ac mae'n cynnig un o’r portffolios cwricwlwm ehangaf gan unrhyw goleg yng Nghymru,
Ers 2013 mae wedi hen ennill ei blwyf fel darparwr addysg blaenllaw yn y DU ac mae'n un o'r colegau mwyaf yn y DU.
Ar draws ei bum safle, mae’n cynnig amrywiaeth eang o gyrsiau llawn amser a rhan-amser gan gynnwys Safon Uwch, TGAU, BTEC, Cymraeg i Oedolion ac Addysg Uwch. Mae'r coleg hefyd yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth â dros 1,000 o gyflogwyr yn lleol ac yn genedlaethol i'ch helpu i gael cyfleoedd prentisiaeth a hyfforddeiaeth.
