Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales has welcomed the launch of further grants for local projects in Wrexham and Flintshire.
Mr Rowlands, Welsh Conservative and member of the Welsh Parliament is now urging local charities and non-profit organisations to apply for funding from the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund.
He said:
I am delighted to see more money is now being made available for local projects which help to make a difference in the community.
A number of schemes in my region have already benefitted from the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund, including the Wrexham Warehouse project and Agri-cation near Bangor-on-Dee.
Last year I was fortunate enough to spend some time at Agri-cation and see how this innovative business is focusing on teaching young people about the food chain, the environment and the farming industry. It was really interesting to see how everything works and speak to people involved.
I support any financial help for local schemes which ultimately benefit the community and urge those who meet the criteria to apply.
The Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Community Fund was first launched in 2021 to support new projects across the water company’s area which includes Wrexham and Flintshire.
The next opportunity for applications is now open until Monday October 3 2022 with grants of £2,000-£10,000 on offer to support new projects with a link to improving community wellbeing through one or more of these three key themes.
People - projects that help people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills; Place - ideas that help create better places to live in and us and Environment - schemes that will help look after the natural environment, give people greater access to that environment or help look after water.

Mae Sam Rowlands, yr AS dros Ogledd Cymru, wedi croesawu lansiad grantiau pellach i brosiectau lleol yn Wrecsam a Sir y Fflint.
Mae Mr Rowlands, aelod o’r Ceidwadwyr Cymreig a Senedd Cymru nawr yn annog elusennau lleol a sefydliadau nid-er-elw i wneud cais am gyllid o Gronfa Gymunedol Hafren Dyfrdwy.
Meddai:
Rwy’n falch o weld bod mwy o arian yn cael ei ddarparu i brosiectau lleol sy’n helpu i wneud gwahaniaeth yn y gymuned.
Mae nifer o gynlluniau yn fy rhanbarth eisoes wedi elwa ar Gronfa Gymunedol Hafren Dyfrdwy, yn cynnwys prosiect Warws Wrecsam ac Agri-cation ger Bangor-Is-y-Coed.
Y llynedd ro’n i’n ddigon lwcus i dreulio amser yn Agri-cation a gweld sut mae’r busnes arloesol hwn yn canolbwyntio ar addysgu pobl ifanc am y gadwyn fwyd, yr amgylchedd a’r diwydiant ffermio. Roedd hi’n ddiddorol iawn gweld sut mae popeth yn gweithio a siarad â’r bobl sy’n gysylltiedig ag ef.
Rwy’n cefnogi unrhyw gymorth ariannol ar gyfer cynlluniau lleol sydd o fudd i’r gymuned yn y pen draw ac yn annog y rhai sy’n bodloni’r meini prawf i ymgeisio.
Cafodd Cronfa Gymunedol Hafren Dyfrdwy ei lansio yn 2021 i gefnogi prosiectau newydd ar draws ardal y cwmni dŵr sy’n cynnwys Wrecsam a Sir y Fflint.
