Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has welcomed a new online advice service to support prospective higher education students.
Mr Rowlands was commenting on the sessions being organised by Coleg Cambria University Centre this Summer.
He said:
I am delighted to see this new online advice service which will be of enormous benefit to students considering their next step into studying for a higher education qualification.
Choosing the right course, how to apply and what funding is available is a lot to take in and I welcome any moves which will help prospective students make their choices.
Coleg Cambria is a leading education provider with campuses across North Wales offering a wide range of courses and it is great to see them offering assistance in this way.
Coleg Cambria University Centre has organised sessions for learners via a new booking portal, offering guidance to anyone interested in studying for a higher education qualification, including advice on degree options, course recommendations, applications, funding and finance and more.
They take place across August and September with Cambria’s HE Partnerships and Compliance Manager Donna Pritchard, and Emma Hurst, Dean of HE and Access to HE.
Reflecting on the University Centre advice booking service, Mrs Hurst said:
This is a new option for prospective HE learners.
Choosing the right course and navigating the application process can feel overwhelming so this takes some of that burden and worry away and gives direct access to expertise and advice ahead of the next academic year.
Donna and I will be on hand to discuss any issues related to higher education at Coleg Cambria and are happy to answer questions on everything from student loans to course recommendations for anyone wanting to explore different careers or take the next step in their learning journey.
Donna added:
We think the service will be especially valuable for anyone wanting to go through Clearing or planning to start a course this September but unsure which qualification will align with their aspirations.
We work in partnership with leading universities and are plugged into industry across Wales and beyond so whatever it is you are looking for we will be able to help.
Sam Rowlands AS yn canmol gwasanaeth newydd i helpu myfyrwyr yng Ngogledd-ddwyrain Cymru
Mae Sam Rowlands, Aelod o’r Senedd dros y Gogledd, wedi croesawu gwasanaeth cynghori ar-lein newydd i gefnogi darpar fyfyrwyr addysg uwch.
Roedd Mr Rowlands yn sôn am y sesiynau sy'n cael eu trefnu gan Ganolfan Prifysgol Coleg Cambria yr haf hwn.
Meddai:
Rwy'n falch iawn o weld y gwasanaeth cynghori ar-lein newydd hwn a fydd o fudd enfawr i fyfyrwyr sy'n ystyried eu cam nesaf i astudio ar gyfer cymhwyster addysg uwch.
Mae dewis y cwrs cywir, sut i wneud cais a pha gyllid sydd ar gael yn llawer i'w ystyried ac rwy'n croesawu unrhyw gamau a fydd yn helpu darpar fyfyrwyr i wneud eu dewisiadau.
Mae Coleg Cambria yn ddarparwr addysg blaenllaw gyda champysau ledled y Gogledd yn cynnig ystod eang o gyrsiau ac mae'n wych eu gweld yn cynnig cymorth fel hyn.
Mae Canolfan Prifysgol Coleg Cambria wedi trefnu sesiynau i ddysgwyr drwy borth archebu newydd, gan gynnig arweiniad i unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn astudio ar gyfer cymhwyster addysg uwch, gan gynnwys cyngor ar ddewisiadau graddau, argymhellion cyrsiau, ceisiadau, cyllid a mwy.
Maen nhw’n cael eu cynnal gydol mis Awst a mis Medi gyda’r Rheolwr Partneriaethau a Chydymffurfiaeth AU, Donna Pritchard, ac Emma Hurst, Deon Addysg Uwch a Mynediad i AU.
Wrth fyfyrio ar wasanaeth archebu cyngor Canolfan y Brifysgol, dywedodd Mrs Hurst:
Mae hwn yn opsiwn newydd i ddarpar ddysgwyr AU.
Gall dewis y cwrs cywir a mynd drwy’r broses ymgeisio deimlo'n llethol felly mae hyn yn ysgafnhau rhywfaint o'r baich a'r pryder hwnnw ac yn rhoi mynediad uniongyrchol at arbenigedd a chyngor cyn y flwyddyn academaidd nesaf.
Bydd Donna a minnau wrth law i drafod unrhyw faterion sy'n ymwneud ag addysg uwch yng Ngholeg Cambria ac yn hapus i ateb cwestiynau ar bopeth o fenthyciadau myfyrwyr i argymhellion cwrs i unrhyw un sydd am archwilio gwahanol yrfaoedd neu gymryd y cam nesaf yn eu taith ddysgu.
Ychwanegodd Donna:
Rydyn ni'n credu y bydd y gwasanaeth yn arbennig o werthfawr i unrhyw un sydd eisiau mynd drwy’r Gwasanaeth Clirio neu'n bwriadu dechrau cwrs fis Medi eleni ond yn ansicr pa gymhwyster fydd yn cyd-fynd â'u dyheadau.
Rydyn ni'n gweithio mewn partneriaeth â phrifysgolion blaenllaw ac mae gennym ni gysylltiadau â diwydiant ledled Cymru a thu hwnt felly beth bynnag rydych chi'n chwilio amdano, byddwn ni'n gallu helpu.
