Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales urges people across Denbighshire to come up with ideas to make the county more age-friendly.
Mr Rowlands, Welsh Conservative and a member of the Welsh Parliament is backing a call from Denbighshire County Council who want residents and communities to take part.
He said:
I am a great supporter of involving local communities and asking for their views and ideas when it comes to what they want to see in the area they live and the services they require.
These days people do tend to be living longer and it is vital that we seriously consider plans for the older generation.
I think it is a great idea to ask the public what they think and get them to come up with ideas for the future and make the county more age-friendly.
Denbighshire County Council say ideas are welcome on a range of topics including transport; housing; outdoor spaces; social participation; respect and social inclusion; civic participation and employment; communication and information and community support and health services.
Contributions received will be displayed, subject to permissions, to coincide with a visit from Helena Herklots, Wales’ Older People’s Commissioner when she visits the county to mark International Day of Older People on October 1st.
Entries can either be e-mailed to enquiries@acnwc.org, sent or dropped off at Age Connects at Eirianfa, Factory Place, Denbigh LL16 3TS or arrangements can be made for collection.
For further information, please call 01745 816947 or email enquiries@acnwc.org. The deadline is September 26.
