Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales and Darren Millar MS for Clwyd West are urging constituents to have their say on plans to charge for parking at a local beauty spot.
Denbighshire County Council is holding a consultation on proposals to introduce new parking restrictions within Moel Famau Country Park.
Sam Rowlands MS said:
The park is a very special place and a magnet for ramblers and walkers alike. Moel Famau is rich in wildlife and heritage and right on our doorstep and is a local treasure.
It is a beautiful part of the world and attracts thousands of visitors all year round and we need to do everything we can to ensure it is a safe place to visit and accessible for everyone.
I would urge my constituents to make sure they do not miss out on the opportunity to have their say on the proposals and take part in the consultation which ends on November 5.
Darren Millar MS said:
I received many complaints about irresponsible parking by people accessing Moel Famau over the past 18 months as a result of the booming staycation market so I am pleased to see Denbighshire taking action to address the problem.
It's vital that the local authority listens to the views of those who have been affected so I'd encourage anyone with an interest to respond to the consultation as soon as possible so that their views can be taken on board.
Once the consultation has been completed it is essential that any work to implement a scheme to address these issues proceeds quickly.
The Council is proposing to issue a Traffic Regulation Order to prohibit parking along Bwlch Pen Barras, adjacent to Moel Famau. Concerns have been raised that those not using the allotted car parks and parking on Bwlch Pen Barras are impacting the ability of emergency vehicles to access the area as well as causing problems for local residents and businesses.
The proposal is one of a number of measures the council and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB are taking to help alleviate congestion at Moel Famau which has included creating an additional 50 car parking spaces at the site.

Sam Rowlands AS a Darren Millar AS yn galw ar y cyhoedd i rannu eu barn ar godi am barcio ym Moel Famau
Mae Sam Rowlands AS Gogledd Cymru a Darren Millar AS Gorllewin Clwyd yn annog etholwyr i ddweud eu dweud ar gynlluniau i godi am barcio mewn llecynnau hyfryd lleol.
Mae Cyngor Sir Ddinbych yn cynnal ymgynghoriad ar gynigion i gyflwyno cyfyngiadau parcio newydd ym Mharc Gwledig Moel Famau.
Meddai Sam Rowlands AS:
Mae’r parc yn lle arbennig iawn ac yn denu cerddwyr a chrwydrwyr. Mae Moel Famau yn llawn bywyd gwyllt a threftadaeth gyfoethog ac mae’n drysor lleol sydd ar garreg y drws i ni.
Mae’n rhan hyfryd o’r byd ac yn denu miloedd o ymwelwyr gydol y flwyddyn ac mae angen i ni wneud popeth o fewn ein gallu i sicrhau ei fod yn parhau’n lle diogel i ymweld ag ef a’i fod yn hygyrch i bawb.
Byddwn yn erfyn ar fy etholwyr i sicrhau nad ydyn nhw’n colli’r cyfle i ddweud eu dweud ar y cynigion a chymryd rhan yn yr ymgynghoriad a fydd yn dod i ben ar 5 Tachwedd.
Meddai Darren Millar AS:
Derbyniais sawl cwyn am barcio anghyfrifol gan bobl sy’n dod i Foel Famau yn ystod y 18 mis diwethaf yn sgil y farchnad gwyliau gartref enfawr felly rwy’n falch o glywed bod Sir Ddinbych yn cymryd camau i fynd i’r afael â’r broblem.
Mae’n hanfodol bod yr awdurdod lleol yn gwrando ar farn y rhai sydd wedi’u heffeithio a byddwn yn annog pawb sydd â diddordeb i ymateb i’r ymgynghoriad cyn gynted â phosibl er mwyn i’w barn gael ei hystyried.
Ar ôl cwblhau’r ymgynghoriad mae’n hollbwysig ein bod yn mynd ati ar unwaith i roi cynllun ar waith i ddatrys y problemau hyn.
Mae’r Cyngor yn cynnig rhoi Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig ar waith i wahardd parcio ar hyd Bwlch Pen Barras, ger Moel Famau. Mae pryderon wedi’u codi bod y rhai sydd ddim yn defnyddio’r meysydd parcio penodol ac yn parcio ar Fwlch Pen Barras yn effeithio ar allu cerbydau brys i gael mynediad at yr ardal heb son am achosi problemau i drigolion a busnesau lleol.
Mae’r cynnig yn un o nifer o fesurau y mae’r cyngor ac AHNE Bryniau Clwyd a Dyffryn Dyfrdwy yn eu cymryd i helpu i liniaru tagfeydd ym Moel Famau, sy’n cynnwys creu 50 lle parcio ychwanegol ar y safle.
Gall preswylwyr weld a rhoi sylwadau ar y Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig arfaethedig yn https://countyconversation.denbighshire.gov.uk/project/627
