Sam Rowlands, MS for North Wales is calling on residents and businesses in rural Denbighshire to apply for funds to help improve broadband coverage.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Minister for Local Government, is supporting a call from Denbighshire County Council who are urging people to apply.
He said:
Increased demand for fast, reliable internet connectivity has never been so evident than in the past 18 months as we continue to see a greater reliance for online services, with more people still working from home.
Steps to improve internet connection in rural areas is long overdue and I just hope this scheme will provide an opportunity for both businesses and residents to take action to solve their connectivity issues.
I urge people to apply for the funds and hopefully this will bring some relief to those who are trying to run a business in these worst affected areas, and to householders who struggle to get a connection.
The UK and Welsh governments are working together on the Gigabit Broadband Voucher scheme which covers part of the cost of installing new gigabit-capable internet connections.
Under the partnership £7,000 is available for small-to-medium sized businesses and up to £3,000 is available for residential premises.
Gigabit-capable broadband connections offer the fastest and most reliable speeds available, and the scheme is open to rural premises with broadband speeds of less than 100Mbps.

Sam Rowlands AS yn annog trigolion a busnesau i wneud cais am arian i helpu i wella eu cysylltiad rhyngrwyd
Mae Sam Rowlands, AS ar gyfer Gogledd Cymru, yn annog trigolion a busnesau mewn ardaloedd gwledig o Sir Ddinbych i wneud cais am arian i helpu i wella darpariaeth band eang.
Mae Mr Rowlands, Gweinidog Llywodraeth Leol yr Wrthblaid, yn cefnogi Cyngor Sir Ddinbych sy'n annog pobl i wneud cais am yr arian.
Meddai:
Mae'r galw cynyddol am gysylltiad rhyngrwyd cyflym a dibynadwy wedi bod yn amlwg iawn yn ystod y 18 mis diwethaf wrth i ni barhau i weld mwy o ddibyniaeth ar wasanaethau ar-lein a mwy o bobl yn parhau i weithio gartref.
Mae'n hen bryd rhoi camau ar waith i wella cysylltiad rhyngrwyd mewn ardaloedd gwledig, ac rwy'n gobeithio y bydd y cynllun hwn yn gyfle i fusnesau a thrigolion gymryd camau i ddatrys eu problemau cysylltedd.
Rwy'n annog pobl i wneud cais am yr arian gan obeithio y bydd yn rhoi rhywfaint o gymorth i'r rhai sy'n ceisio cynnal busnes yn yr ardaloedd sy'n cael eu heffeithio waethaf, ac i ddeiliaid tai sy'n ei chael yn anodd cael cysylltiad.
Mae llywodraethau'r DU a Chymru yn cydweithio ar gynllun Talebau Band Eang Gigabeit, sy'n cynnwys rhan o'r gost o osod cysylltiadau rhyngrwyd newydd sy'n gallu trosglwyddo data ar gyfradd gigabeit.
O dan y bartneriaeth, mae £7,000 ar gael i fusnesau bach a chanolig ac mae hyd at £3,000 ar gael ar gyfer eiddo preswyl.
Mae cysylltiadau band eang sy'n gallu trosglwyddo data ar gyfradd gigabeit yn cynnig y cysylltiad cyflymaf a mwyaf dibynadwy sydd ar gael, ac mae'r cynllun yn agored i eiddo gwledig sydd â chyflymder band eang o lai na 100Mbps.
I gael gwybod a ydych yn gymwys ai peidio, anfonwch e-bost at [email protected] ac ewch i https://gigabitvoucher.culture.gov.uk
