Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales supports a major charity celebrating its anniversary.
Mr Rowlands joined fellow members of the Senedd at the annual reception for Cancer Research UK in Cardiff.
He said:
I was delighted to attend this yearly event for such a worthwhile charity and help to celebrate 20 years of Cancer Research UK.
It was good to hear all about the work of the charity from CEO, Michelle Mitchell and its commitment to improving cancer outcomes here in Wales.
I was also pleased to have the opportunity to meet fundraisers who have been supporting CRUK for over 40 years in Wales and celebrate the work of people who support those affected by cancer.
Cancer Research UK is a registered charity and the world’s largest independent cancer research organisation. It was formed in February 2002 with the merger of The Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
Sam Rowlands AS yn mynychu derbyniad i ddathlu 20 mlwyddiant sefydlu Cancer Research UK
Mae’r AS dros Ogledd Cymru, Sam Rowlands, yn cefnogi elusen flaenllaw sy’n dathlu ei phen-blwydd.
Ymunodd Mr Rowlands â chyd-Aelodau o’r Senedd yn y derbyniad blynyddol ar gyfer Cancer Research UK yng Nghaerdydd.
Dywedodd:
Roeddwn wrth fy modd yn mynychu’r digwyddiad blynyddol hwn ar gyfer elusen mor arbennig, ac i helpu i ddathlu 20 mlynedd o Cancer Research UK.
Roedd yn braf clywed am waith yr elusen gan y Prif Swyddog Gweithredol, Michelle Mitchell, a’i hymrwymiad i wella canlyniadau canser yma yng Nghymru.
Roeddwn hefyd yn falch o gael y cyfle i gyfarfod â chodwyr arian sydd wedi bod yn cefnogi CRUK ers dros 40 mlynedd yng Nghymru ac i ddathlu gwaith pobl sy’n cefnogi’r rhai sy’n byw gyda chanser.
Mae Cancer Research UK yn elusen gofrestredig, a dyma yw sefydliad ymchwil canser annibynnol mwyaf y byd. Fe’i sefydlwyd ym mis Chwefror 2002 drwy uno’r Ymgyrch Ymchwil Canser a Chronfa Ymchwil Canser Imperial.
