Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has praised Bangor University’s Business School for its success.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Minister for Local Government and a keen supporter of any measures to help businesses in North Wales thrive said:
I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit the school and see the excellent facilities they have on offer, and congratulate staff in person for the success of the North Wales Means Business Conference which was held earlier this year.
The event, which was held at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, was organised by Bangor Business School and was highly successful, attracting leading voices from education, finance and industry.
During my visit I also met some students and saw their Trading Room, which has Bloomberg terminals to allow them to practice trading based on real stock markets. Students can also participate in a Global Challenge run by Bloomberg, and two of the top three teams are from Bangor University.
The business school is a jewel in the crown of Bangor University and over the last few years has delivered training to thousands of businesses all over North Wales. Well done to everyone involved.
At the time of the conference Lorraine Hopkins, Head of the Leading Business Growth Programmes, said the 2023 conference marked a very special occasion for North Wales businesses and her team at Bangor Business School.
She said: “I for one feel very privileged to be part of it as it is a celebration of 13 years of delivering training to over a thousand business owners, leaders, and managers. It is also recognition of the impact this training has had on our business economy.”
Ms Hopkins said she was pleased to welcome Sam Rowlands to the school and thanked him for his support.
