Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales, is calling on people in Wrexham to help celebrate the first anniversary of a new initiative to help residents in North Wales.
Twelve months ago, the wellbeing hub in Crown Buildings opened its doors to Wrexham residents and will be holding a special anniversary event on October 10.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Minister for Local Government and keen supporter of the initiative said:
I was delighted when this initiative was launched last October and very pleased to see its continued success.
It is good to see all three organisations working together to provide a place where it makes it easier for people to access a range of services all under one roof.
The hub offers information and advice as well as accessible spaces and facilities, and is actually in Wrexham city centre so that people are encouraged to call in.
The idea was to make it a real hub of the community for all the family in a fantastic location and ideal for the community and I would urge anyone who has not visited to go along and find out more next week.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Wrexham County Borough Council and the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham, joined forces to create the wellbeing hub in the centre of Wrexham.
Since it opened, people of all ages from across the county borough have visited the wellbeing hub, which focuses on physical health, as well as mental health and wellbeing, in a safe environment.
October 10’s free celebration gives people the chance to visit the hub with stalls and activities on offer throughout the afternoon.
Between 1pm and 5pm there will be information stalls, taster sessions (boccia and chair aerobics), health checks, crafts and lots more. The Dynamic Singing Sensations Choir will also be there to perform at 4.30pm.
If you would like any more information on the activities available on the day, or about what the wellbeing hub can offer you, call 01978 298110.
