Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, urges his constituents to stay safe this Summer.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Minister for Local Government and a keen supporter of the work of the police is backing a campaign to prevent crime and keep communities safe across his Region.
He said:
I am pleased to raise awareness of the ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ campaign across North Wales and support North Wales Police’s initiative to help us all to take measures to reduce the chance of becoming a victim.
Everyone should have the opportunity to learn more about how to stay safe in our communities and I think it is a great idea for our local PCSO’s to be out in offering advice and guidance.
I would urge anyone interested in having a chat with them to attend one of the sessions in Rhyl over the next couple of weeks.
Denbighshire Coastal ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ Community Officers will be at several events in Rhyl this month to talk about crime prevention and If you are interested in improving home security, they can offer advice on keeping your home and valuables safe and are happy to discuss any issues affecting your area.
They will be at Rhyl Wings Project at St. Rhyl Rugby Club, Thursday, Aug 24 and Rhyl Air Show, Saturday, Aug 26 10am - 4pm.
As part of the ’We Don’t Buy Crime’ campaign NWP are partnering with communities and businesses to minimise crime and catch and convict offenders who commit: burglary; robbery; theft and vehicle crime.
These are crimes where the offender profits from the crime, collectively known as ‘acquisitive crime’ which can have an impact on individuals, communities, and businesses.
Visit the Crime Prevention Advice section of the website to learn more about how you can reduce the chances of becoming a victim of crime.
