Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales is calling on his constituents to support a national charity this February and March.
The Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal was recently launched in Wales and Mr Rowlands is backing the campaign.
He said:
Once again it has been an extremely difficult year for fund raising with Covid restrictions making it difficult to collect any money.
Funds raised through the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal help provide care and support to people at a time when they need it most, be that through a Marie Curie nurse at home or in a hospice, or by speaking to the charity’s Information and Support line.
Despite Covid, I hope the people of North Wales will join me in supporting those affected by terminal illness across the country by proudly wearing their Marie Curie daffodil throughout February and March and donating to this very worthwhile cause.
The Great Daffodil Appeal is the largest fundraising campaign in the hospice sector and, since it began in 1986, the money raised has helped Marie Curie run its essential frontline services providing care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families across the UK.
Each year, Marie Curie raises over a quarter of a million pounds in Wales through the Great Daffodil Appeal.
This helps fund their vital frontline palliative and end of life care services their wonderful nurses and healthcare assistants across Wales who provide support to people dying in their own homes and communities, their UK-wide information and support line and the Wales Marie Curie Research Centre.

Dywedodd:
Unwaith eto mae wedi bod yn flwyddyn anodd iawn i elusennau gyda chyfyngiadau Covid yn golygu bod gwaith casglu arian yn anodd iawn.
Mae'r arian a godir drwy Apêl Fawr y Cennin Pedr Marie Curie yn helpu i ddarparu gofal a chymorth i bobl ar adeg pan fo ei angen arnynt fwyaf, boed hynny drwy nyrs Marie Curie ar yr aelwyd neu'r hosbis, neu drwy siarad â llinell gymorth a gwybodaeth yr elusen.
Er gwaethaf Covid, rwy'n gobeithio y bydd pobl y Gogledd yn ymuno â mi i gefnogi'r rhai sydd wedi'u heffeithio gan salwch terfynol ledled y wlad drwy wisgo eu cennin Pedr Marie Curie gydol mis Chwefror a mis Mawrth a chyfrannu at yr achos gwerth chweil hwn.
Apêl Fawr y Cennin Pedr yw'r ymgyrch codi arian fwyaf yn y sector hosbisau ac, ers iddo ddechrau ym 1986, mae'r arian a godwyd wedi helpu Marie Curie i gynnal gwasanaethau rheng flaen hanfodol sy'n darparu gofal a chymorth i bobl â salwch terfynol a'u teuluoedd ledled y DU.
Bob blwyddyn, mae Marie Curie yn codi dros chwarter miliwn o bunnoedd yng Nghymru, diolch i Apêl Fawr y Cennin Pedr.
Mae hyn yn helpu i ariannu eu gwasanaethau gofal lliniarol a gofal diwedd oes rheng flaen hanfodol, eu nyrsys a'u cynorthwywyr gofal iechyd gwych ledled Cymru sy’n cefnogi’r rhai sy’n marw yn eu cartrefi a'u cymunedau eu hunain, eu llinell gymorth a gwybodaeth ledled y DU a Chanolfan Ymchwil Marie Curie Cymru.
