Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales is calling on everyone eligible to make sure they take up the offer of a Covid booster jab.
Mr Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament, was commenting after Betsi Cadwallader University Health Board announced that over 100,000 people had now been invited to receive the vaccine.
He said:
It is a huge task for the North Wales health board and as winter is fast approaching and we hear about Covid cases increasing I would urge people who are offered the jab, to seek this extra protection.
The booster will help those who have a higher risk of contracting Covid, improve their protection and will ultimately cut down on hospital admissions therefore easing pressure on our already stretched health services in North Wales.
More than 100,000 of the most vulnerable people in North Wales have now been invited to receive their COVID-19 Autumn booster and so far the health board has delivered over 33,000 doses of the vaccine.
Many thousands more appointment letters will be delivered to eligible people throughout North Wales over the coming weeks as BCUHB’s campaign continues to ramp up.
As in previous COVID-19 vaccination campaigns everyone eligible for an autumn booster vaccination will be contacted about an appointment when it is their turn. Appointments will take place at a community vaccination centre or a nearby GP surgery.
Patients should wait to receive an invitation for their vaccination appointment, there is no need to contact the health board.

Bydd y pigiad atgyfnerthu’n helpu'r rhai sydd â risg uwch o ddal Covid wella eu hamddiffyniad ac yn y pen draw bydd yn lleihau nifer y derbyniadau i'r ysbyty gan leihau'r pwysau ar ein gwasanaethau iechyd sydd eisoes dan bwysau yma yn y Gogledd.
Mae mwy na 100,000 o'r bobl fwyaf agored i niwed yn y Gogledd Cymru wedi cael gwahoddiad erbyn hyn i dderbyn eu pigiad atgyfnerthu COVID-19 yn yr hydref, a hyd yn hyn mae'r bwrdd iechyd wedi darparu dros 33,000 dos o'r brechlyn.
Bydd miloedd yn fwy o lythyrau apwyntiad yn cael eu hanfon i bobl gymwys ledled y Gogledd dros yr wythnosau nesaf wrth i ymgyrch y bwrdd iechyd barhau i gynyddu.
Fel yn yr ymgyrchoedd brechu COVID-19 blaenorol cysylltir â phawb sy'n gymwys i gael brechiad atgyfnerthu'r hydref ynghylch apwyntiad yn eu tro. Bydd apwyntiadau'n digwydd mewn canolfan frechu gymunedol neu feddygfa gyfagos.
Dylai cleifion aros i dderbyn gwahoddiad am eu hapwyntiad brechu, does dim angen cysylltu â'r bwrdd iechyd.
