Three Members of the Senedd have thanked and praised staff and volunteers at St Kentigern Hospice in St Asaph for all they are doing to support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families across North Wales.
Clwyd West MS and Shadow Minister for North Wales Darren Millar, North Wales MS Sam Rowlands, and Vale of Clwyd MS Gareth Davies, who are all great supporters of the hospice, made their latest visit to the facility on Friday to meet with the Chair, Steve Thomas, and Chief Executive, Jane McGrath, to discuss their latest work and fundraising initiatives. While there, they also had the opportunity to chat with staff and patients.
Commenting after the visit, Darren said:
Since being founded in 1995, St Kentigern Hospice has been instrumental in providing specialist palliative care services to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families across their catchment area of Denbighshire, West Flintshire and East Conwy.
The Hospice has a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities and services, including inpatient care, day-care, outpatient clinic, community support, bereavement support, and complementary therapies.
The clinical team work tirelessly to provide individualised care and support, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care that is tailored to their needs.
We are extremely fortunate to have such a first-rate facility on our doorstep, providing assurances that should we, or a family member, require it, the best possible care is available locally.
It was great to catch-up with the fantastic team and to have the opportunity to thank them once again for the incredible work they are doing.
Sam said:
Given that St Kentigern Hospice is a registered charity and is mostly reliant on donations and contributions from the community, the service they are providing is particularly commendable.
The hospice hosts a range of fundraising events and activities throughout the year, such as sponsored runs, coffee mornings, and fashion shows, and I encourage people to support these where they can, after all, none of us know when we, or a loved one, may require the excellent services they provide.
I thank the team for welcoming us once again and thank them for all they are doing.

The amazing work they do in providing first class end-of-life care in the local area is second to none and they will always have my support.
Canmol Hosbis St Kentigern am y gefnogaeth "o'r radd flaenaf" y mae'n ei darparu i gleifion a theuluoedd
Mae tri Aelod o'r Senedd wedi canmol staff a gwirfoddolwyr yn Hosbis St Kentigern yn Llanelwy a rhoi diolch am bopeth y maen nhw’n ei wneud i gefnogi cleifion â salwch sy'n cyfyngu ar fywyd a'u teuluoedd ledled y Gogledd.
Fe wnaeth AS Gorllewin Clwyd a Gweinidog yr Wrthblaid dros Ogledd Cymru i’r Ceidwadwyr Cymreig, Darren Millar, AS Gogledd Cymru Sam Rowlands, ac AS Dyffryn Clwyd, Gareth Davies, sydd i gyd yn gefnogwyr mawr i'r hosbis, ymweld â'r cyfleuster ddydd Gwener i gwrdd â'r Cadeirydd, Steve Thomas, a'r Prif Weithredwr, Jane McGrath, i drafod eu gwaith a'u mentrau codi arian diweddaraf. Tra’r oedden nhw yno, cawsant gyfle hefyd i sgwrsio â staff a chleifion.
Wrth siarad ar ôl yr ymweliad, dywedodd Darren:
Ers ei sefydlu ym 1995, mae Hosbis St Kentigern wedi bod yn allweddol wrth ddarparu gwasanaethau gofal lliniarol arbenigol i gleifion â salwch sy'n cyfyngu ar fywyd a'u teuluoedd ar draws eu dalgylch yn Sir Ddinbych, Gorllewin Sir y Fflint a Dwyrain Conwy.
Mae gan yr Hosbis ystod eang o gyfleusterau a gwasanaethau o'r radd flaenaf, gan gynnwys gofal cleifion mewnol, gofal dydd, clinig cleifion allanol, cymorth cymunedol, cymorth profedigaeth, a therapïau cyflenwol.
Mae'r tîm clinigol yn gweithio'n ddiflino i ddarparu gofal a chymorth unigol, gan sicrhau bod cleifion yn cael y gofal gorau posibl sydd wedi'i deilwra i'w hanghenion.
Rydyn ni’n hynod ffodus i gael cyfleuster o'r radd flaenaf o'r fath ar garreg ein drws, gan roi sicrwydd bod y gofal gorau posibl ar gael yn lleol os byddwn ni, neu aelod o'r teulu, ei angen.
Roedd hi'n wych cael sgwrs gyda'r tîm gwych a chael cyfle i ddiolch iddyn nhw unwaith eto am y gwaith anhygoel maen nhw'n ei wneud.
Dywedodd Sam:
O ystyried bod Hosbis St Kentigern yn elusen gofrestredig ac yn dibynnu'n bennaf ar roddion a chyfraniadau gan y gymuned, mae'r gwasanaeth maen nhw’n ei ddarparu yn arbennig o ganmoladwy.
Mae'r hosbis yn cynnal amrywiaeth o ddigwyddiadau a gweithgareddau codi arian drwy gydol y flwyddyn, megis rhedeg noddedig, boreau coffi a sioeau ffasiwn, ac rwy'n annog pobl i gefnogi'r rhain pan fo modd. Wedi'r cyfan, nid oes neb yn gwybod pryd y gallem ni, neu un o’n hanwyliaid, fod angen y gwasanaethau rhagorol maen nhw’n eu darparu.
Diolch i'r tîm am ein croesawu unwaith eto a diolch iddyn nhw am bopeth maen nhw'n ei wneud.
Meddai Gareth:
Mae bob amser yn dda cael cyfle i ymweld â Hosbis St Kentigern yn Llanelwy.
Maen nhw’n gwneud gwaith anhygoel heb ei ail i ddarparu gofal diwedd oes o'r radd flaenaf yn yr ardal leol a byddan nhw bob amser yn cael fy nghefnogaeth.
