Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales is backing an initiative to help young people in Flintshire, looking to take their next step after leaving school.
Mr Rowlands is supporting the council’s drop-in events being held in Holywell, Mold and Broughton, over the next few weeks.
Mr Rowlands said:
I am pleased to promote these sessions which aim to help those people who have just left school and are undecided about their future.
It is good to see organisations working together to provide school leavers with the various choices there are available to them.
Not everyone who leaves school know what they want to do next and I think it is a great idea to provide this sort of help so that they will be fully aware of what opportunities are out there.
It is an excellent initiative and gives young people the chance to find out more about jobs, training, apprenticeships and much more. I would urge anyone who is unsure about their future call in and have a chat with the team.
Communities for Work Plus Flintshire, Jobcentre Plus and Careers Wales will be holding drop-in events over the summer to offer advice, guidance and ideas about the next steps for anyone who has just left school.
The sessions are all being held from 11am-1pm at Holywell Town Market on Thursday August 10; Mold Market (Daniel Owen Centre) on Wednesday August 16 and Wednesday Augst 30 at Broughton Park (outside Costa Coffee).
