Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, supports views of his constituents in North Wales.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Minister for Local Government and a harsh critic of many of Welsh Government’s policies recently sent out a survey to all householders in Ewloe and Hawarden asking people to have their say on what they felt was important for their area.
Mr Rowlands said:
I would like to thank everyone who took the trouble to take part in my survey and I must admit I was not at all surprised with their overall thoughts.
By far the biggest percentage was almost 94% of people not supporting the ridiculous new blanket 20mp speed limit and we are seeing now how this ludicrous and bonkers idea is causing major headaches for motorists.
Quite clearly the money funding the roll out of this new legislation could have been better spent elsewhere. Only today we have heard how deliberate under reporting of A&E waiting list means things are a lot worse in the Welsh NHS than we are being told.
It just seems Welsh Labour Government just lurches from one madcap idea to another without a thought of cost and what their electorate really want.
There is even talk about more measures being taken to frustrate long suffering motorists in North Wales with congestion charges and reducing car parking spaces just a couple of ideas which quite clearly will not work in my constituency.
We don’t have the luxury of decent transport systems in North Wales with often trains and buses being cancelled or delayed without any notice leaving people with no choice but to drive a car to work.
Sam Rowlands AS yn dweud bod arolwg lleol yn dangos dyfnder teimladau yn erbyn polisïau Llywodraeth Cymru yn Ewloe a Phenarlâg
Mae Sam Rowlands, Aelod o’r Senedd dros y Gogledd, yn cefnogi barn ei etholwyr yng Ngogledd Cymru.
Yn ddiweddar, anfonodd Mr Rowlands, Gweinidog Llywodraeth Leol yr Wrthblaid a beirniad llym o lawer o bolisïau Llywodraeth Cymru, arolwg at bob deiliad tŷ yn Ewloe a Phenarlâg yn gofyn i bobl ddweud eu dweud am yr hyn yr oedden nhw’n teimlo oedd yn bwysig i'w hardal.
Meddai Mr Rowlands:
Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb a roddodd o’u hamser i gymryd rhan yn fy arolwg ac mae'n rhaid i mi gyfaddef na chefais fy synnu o gwbl gyda'u barn gyffredinol.
Y ganran fwyaf o bell ffordd oedd bron i 94% o bobl yn erbyn y terfyn cyflymder 20mya cyffredinol newydd hurt ac rydyn ni’n gweld nawr sut mae'r syniad chwerthinllyd a gwallgof hwn yn achosi cur pen mawr i fodurwyr.
Yn amlwg, gallai'r arian sy’n cael ei wario ar gyflwyno’r ddeddfwriaeth newydd hon fod wedi cael ei wario'n well mewn mannau eraill. Dim ond heddiw rydyn ni wedi clywed sut mae diffyg adrodd bwriadol am y niferoedd ar restri aros unedau damweiniau ac achosion brys yn golygu bod pethau'n llawer gwaeth yn GIG Cymru na’r hyn a ddywedir.
Mae'n ymddangos bod Llywodraeth Lafur Cymru ond yn neidio o un syniad gwallgof i'r llall heb feddwl am gost a'r hyn y mae eu hetholwyr ei eisiau mewn gwirionedd.
Mae sôn hyd yn oed am gyflwyno mwy o fesurau i lesteirio gyrwyr sy'n dioddef cymaint eisoes yn y Gogledd gyda thaliadau tagfeydd a lleihau mannau parcio ymhlith y syniadau na fyddai, heb os, yn gweithio yn fy etholaeth i.
Nid oes gennym systemau trafnidiaeth da yn y Gogledd, ac mae trenau a bysiau'n cael eu canslo neu eu gohirio byth a hefyd heb unrhyw rybudd, gan olygu nad oes gan bobl unrhyw ddewis heblaw gyrru car i'r gwaith.
